We are officially opening casting for Room 627!
Room 627 is a short narrative drama currently in pre-production. The film takes place over the course of one hour in an after-school detention classroom. It follows two teenage boys who share a history and unresolved trauma, left unsupervised when authority figures are absent. What starts as familiar hostility evolves into a confrontation that compels both individuals to confront their identities.
We are seeking to cast one remaining role.
The Role
Ryan Keller — male actor, playing age 15 to 17.
Ryan is sharp, restless, and intimidating. He knows how to control a room and hurt people with words. He leads with confidence, sarcasm, and aggression because those traits keep him safe. They keep anyone from getting too close.
Under that surface is a kid shaped by instability and fear. Ryan grew up learning that vulnerability is dangerous. Anger became his shield. Humor became his weapon. Control became survival.
Ryan is not written as a villain. His cruelty is learned behavior. His confidence is armor. When that armor cracks, what comes through is shame, grief, and a profound exhaustion from carrying pain he does not know how to name.
This role requires an actor who can live comfortably in contradiction. Ryan must feel dangerous in the early moments, then slowly exposed as the scene progresses. The shift cannot be announced. It must happen through small changes in posture, breath, silence, and eye contact.
The most essential quality is listening. Ryan's transformation happens not because he talks more, but because he finally stops performing.
